‘Light’ vs regular cigarettes – does it really matter?

Regular cigarettes or light. Most people would think that the lights  are better than smoking the regular full flavored cigarettes. One study conducted at UCLA provides evidence that both types of regular and light cigarettes have the same effect on the body and the brain. The study has shown the nicotine receptors in the brain respond just as much to light cigarettes as full flavored cigarettes. The nicotine in the cigarette is the sole responder for the reaction of both types of cigarettes.

I personally never thought that there was a difference between either cigarette. I always felt that all cigarettes had the same effect on the body and brain. This is just the thought I always have because that is what we are told when we are younger.

Well, as a smoker of cigarettes, I can tell you all that they are horrible for you. All it takes to permanently damage your body is one (1) (uno) cigarette. The effect a particular cigarette can have on two or more different people is certainly subjective. However, in the end, it’s all the same. When you go and smoke, you run the risk of catching cancer, as some of my frineds put it.

This is a very interesting point to bring up. While we know that all cigarrettes are bad for you, one would assume that just like light beer or a light drink is better for you, a light cigarrette would be better as well. This is good information for me as well because I have an aunt and uncle who have been smokers for a long time. My uncle smokes regular full ones and my aunt goes for light cigarrettes. I will have to pass this info along, explaining there is no difference in the two types and both have equally as harmful effects on the body and brain.

This article was very interesting to read because i have a lot of friends who smoke. Most of them buy the light cigarettes because they think they are in some way better than the regular ones. I don’t smoke and i think that smokers should know that lights are not better than regular cigarettes. They are both bad that cause more harm than good.

I completely agree with your statement about how you did not see a difference in any cigarettes. I love how tobacco companies use the word “light” as if it is a healthier product. The fact of the matter is that all brands and types of cigarettes are horrible for you. People are foolish if they buy a pack of “light” cigarettes and believe that their chances of getting cancer are less than buying a regular brand. I mean comparing a “light” cigarette to a regular cigarette, I am sure it is healthier for you. However, in the long run they are both going to cause a horrible outcome to your body.

I feel that it is all a marketing scame that the cigarette companies do to make people feel like they are not inhaling posiones toxens every time they go to smoke a cigarette.
