Plant phytonutrients found in Brussels sprouts boost the body’s natural defense systems to protect against cancer and other diseases. The article makes an interesting statement and says that Brussels sprouts and other vegetables disarm cancer causing chemicals.  Evidence shows that Brussels sprouts cause DNA to become and stay healthy.  This is important because if DNA is damaged cells replicate more than normal.  Brussels sprouts are also packed with fiber which is healthy for the cell walls in the colon which can prevent colon cancer.

that’s very interesting. my mom hates Brussels sprouts so i’m not sure if i have had them in the past. knowing this i might convince her to buy some so that i can keep my body very healthy in an easy way. it also helps reduce my chances of getting cancer by alot and my chance of getting colon cancer as well. i never knew that such a small thing as Brussels sprouts could do so much for our bodies.

I really enjoyed reading this article! I’m so excited that Brussels sprouts prevent cancer. I have never tried them before, but I love vegetables! Everyone knows that vegetables are healthy for your body but they can save your life, as well. I am not a picky eater at all so I will try Brussels sprouts as soon as possible to prevent me to having cancer!

After reading this article, I found it extremely interesting that Brussel sprouts are found to protect the body from not only different diseases, but also cancer. We all knew that vegetables were healthy for your body, but who would have ever thought that they can help prevent cancer and other illnesses. I never had brussel sprouts, but maybe I’ll give them a try!

This article is really interesting from the standpoint that I have never had brussel sprouts and cancer is in epidemic in our world today. I think if we can find more natural ways to prevent cancer than we should all partake in doing whatever it takes. I personally doubt I will like brussel sprouts when I try them, but it would not kill me to try them in favor of preventing cancer in the long term. Overall I really enjoyed the article and think that science as a whole would be best served in finding healthy foods like brussel sprouts that can keep us healthy.

This article is definitely interesting because everyone always hears how they should eat their vegetables because they are good for you and this article just proves it! It is also interesting that brussel sprouts help fight against a specific type of cancer, colon cancer. I have heard that broccocli helps prevent eye disease. Therefore, I wonder if all vegetables help prevent different diseases?

I always think it’s real interesting to see how different foods interact with our body to give off healthy side effects.

Wow! That’s really very interesting. I would have never suspected that something such as Brussels sprouts could have prevented cancer, of all things. It makes me wonder if Brussels sprouts have the ability to protect, or even cure, any other disease, something that is inferior to cancer. That’s really something to think about. This article was very informative. Great job! =)

Wow! Who would’ve thought! Brussels Sprouts?! I have to admit, I’m really not a fan when it comes to brussels sprouts, but after reading this article, maybe I will give more of a try to have it with meals. It’s good to know that it can help prevent cancer and maybe fight other diseases as well. Hopefully, this will shift focus to researching other veggies and bring awareness to adults and most importantly young children that consuming any type of veggies are really good for you. Anything that benefits your health is great!

This is kind of cool, but i wonder if it will still be true in a year or so. I feel like everyday we are told something helps prevent cancer but the next day we are told it causes cancer. If they really do help prevent cancer, im sure we will see them being used in more and more recipes.

I also agree that this article is interesting and useful! They say that vegetables are loaded with antioxidants, which are cancer-fighting. Tea is a good source as well. Fiber works by “cleaning out” our digestive systems, and helping people to be more regular. Finding out that brussel sprouts are added to the list is good to know. It is sad how many people are affected by cancer, so every little bit of information we have to help prevent it is great. No wonder they tell us to get 5 servings a day of veggies and fruits…

This summary was very informative on how certaing green vegies (brussel sprouts) can fight cancer. I feel it is important for college students to know this due to the fact that collge students tend to have unhealthy habits. Examples inckude, drinking, smoking, and eating unhealthy foods. It is critical that students understand the difference of what substances should be put in their bodies and what substances should not or atleast in moderation. I feeel with furthere research in this topic scientists will find a way to replicate this chemical and one day use it as a cancer curing treatment.

Wow thats aweome! I love eating brussel sprouts so I guess that reduces my chances of getting cancer. After reading this I am going to tell my family to try to cook with as many veggies, including brussel sprouts when they make their meals. Thanks for the healthy food choice tip!

This article is very interesting to me because something so natural can help prevent cancer in the body. People should listen to their parents when they tell them to eat their vegetables because in the end it all helps to protect your body. I don’t see myself going as far as eating brussel sprouts but I do think i will begin eating more vegetables!

Eating brussel sprouts is not usually number 1 on my list of things I want to eat. But after reading this article, it may be worth it to start eating some! On the other hand, everything according to scientist somehow leads to cancer anyway, so I’d like to see if this actually works!

this is knowledge that should’ve already been known. if america isn’t as obese as it is, more people would eat vegetables like this and already know the outcome by a number of years ago. since america is this obese though, by the chance that maybe a wuarter of americans will read about this discovery, almost nobody will change their diet.

I think I’m actually one of the few people I know who likes brussel sprouts- I’ve actually liked them since childhood! Of course, everyone knows that vegetables are good for you, but I don’t think that anyone realizes how critical they are for maintaining health.
