First Aid for Brain Cells Comes Blood

In an acute ischemic stroke, the blood supply to the brain is restricted and brain cell eventually die from lack of oxygen.  Then ischemia activates harmful inflammatory processes in the affected area of the brain.  Scientists at the Neurology Clinic at Heidelberg University Hospital found that T lymphocytes are cells that are in the blood and inhibit inflammation after a stroke.  They are also known as Treg cells.  It is unclear how these cells communicate in the affect area in the brain, however, Interleukin, a transmitter substance produced by the Treg cells seems to play an important part.

How can this discovery change the future in patients who undergo a stroke?

After further research and knowledge of this, will techniques and procedures develop and will further discoveries about the brain come about?
